Woven memories is a fanfic set in the world of Battle Network/Starforce in the year 24XX. This sets it four hundred years in the future post Battle Network and two hundred years post Starforce.
In the year 23XX in this timeline a terrible tragedy occurred called the Net Reset where during a world wide upgrade of the internet caused all AI companions, Navi and Wizard alike, to be incompatible with the modern net. This resulted in the accidental deletion of many AI companions.
Teleportation technology was developed and became widespread in 23XX and the years since. This technology was used to build a Moon colony named Argent shortly after the events of the Net Reset. Teleportation is dangerous for anything that has a great deal of dense electronic memory such as computer memory and living things with brains.
For many years humanity has tried its best to recover from the disaster of the Net Reset and for the most part has succeeded. No AI has been capable of working with the more efficient and streamlined modern net despite the efforts of many researchers.
Seven years prior to the events of Woven Memories, the Moon colony Argent was attacked by a mysterious program. This resulted in the injury of many people inside Argent and the gradual abandonment of the colony.
The only ones unable to leave the colony were Reg Garret and his parents as Reg is way too young to use the teleporter.
Characters
- Reg Garret: A dedicated and good-natured, if a bit weird boy from the Moon.
- Silver: AI companion that was gifted to Reg for his 15th birthday.
- Ellen Stream: A lively girl with a bright personality and penchant for fighting.
- Cometman.EXE: A reliable Navi companion to Ellen.
- Eni Ijuuin: A quiet, intelligent boy who enjoys coding in his free time.
- One.EXE: A very powerful Navi that accompanies Eni.
- Nero Viz: A dangerous girl with a single minded focus on her work at DART.
