Meiru used to think she was completely normal in every way. Then, she lost her light, and threw all her old dreams away to fight in his stead. But now, she's starting to wonder if she might've been just a regular girl all along. After all, she's got all the usual concerns of a girl her age—deciding where to go for college, adjusting to having her long-lost crush back in her life after helping to bring an entire nation to its knees to save him, finding her lost dog so she can Cross Fuse...

She's like any other girl. She's like no other girl.

At turns, Meiru can be fanciful, practical, confident, self-conscious, patient, short-tempered; but always tuned into what's happening around her. She's a girly-girl through and through, who loves cute things and reading up on the latest trends, and by that same token she often ends up collecting rarer or more esoteric chips.

She thinks of herself as a coward by nature, rarely instigating Netbattles for fun; but she's braver than she thinks she is, never hesitating to step up and fight when the moment calls for it and unafraid of putting in the work to keep up with her partners in battle. She is deeply, deeply loyal to her close friends.

More than anything, she fears the idea of being left behind.

History

First Impressions

The only daughter of Ai Sakurai and Cody Linkler, Meiru was born and raised in a quiet Japanese suburb, far from her parents' Ameroupe-based talent agency. But while both adults agreed keeping such a young and impressionable girl away from the cutthroat world of stardom was what was best for her, neither was quite ready to leave it behind yet. Once Meiru had turned eight, Ai commissioned a companion Navi, Roll.EXE^FS, to keep the girl out of trouble, entrusted Meiru with an allowance sizeable enough for her to run the house in her mother's stead... and promptly returned to the talent agency in Heaven's City with her husband.

To their credit—and with the guiding critique of Meiru's maternal grandmother, Nadeshiko Sakurai—Meiru and Roll barely missed a step; interweaving household chores, piano lessons, playtime, school time, and studying all the most girlish trends with ease. But didn't every girl her age...?
