Patrick Sprigs, or simply Pat as he prefers to be called, is a general post-canon iteration of the character from Mega Man Star Force. He has dissociative identity disorder and is the host of the system. Rey is a very active alter that often co-fronts. At the current moment, they believe they are the only two present, though another seems to have started becoming more active under their noses: an introject of their time period's Mega Man who refers to himself as Aster. As with canon, they are able to Wave Change with their now-Wizard Gemini in order to become Gemini Spark.

Appearance

Not much has changed between Pat's canon appearance and now. He stands at around 5'3" (~160cm) with an incredibly thin build. His hair is a bit longer and looser than it used to be, and he keeps hair ties in his bag to tie it back occasionally. Rey prefers his hair up this way and will often change it while fronting.

Personality

Pat is trying his best. The guilt of betraying Geo continues to eat at his heart, and the instinctual urge to burn his bridges and remain alone rears its head in his mind frequently. Despite this, he wants to change. He's managed to develop multiple friendships that are too important to lose. His outwardly placid demeanor has remained through his life- a tool to prevent anyone worrying about him, more often than not. He's quiet and introverted but polite and understanding.

Rey, on the other hand, is ever eager to speak his mind. Their past led him to carry a deep mistrust of others and a belief that no one can look out for them except themselves. His general loathing used to extend to himself much more as well. He's often outwardly snarky. With time and reconciliation with Pat, he can now be playfully rude toward the small amount of people he's willing to spend time around. He doesn't know how to handle affection... but then again, neither does Pat. He will not hesitate to throw hands against things that threaten them.

Aster, though not often seen, is a voice of support. It's what he tries to be, at least. Even he struggles with thoughts of inferiority. Despite this, he wants to do good. He's more outgoing than the other two when he's present.

History

Immediate Post-Canon

Pat spent much of his time wandering alone after the events of the FM invasion (Star Force 1) had ended. For a while, he no longer felt comfortable showing his face back in Echo Ridge, no longer attending school and leaving the orphanage far behind him. His relationship with Rey was rocky to say the least, and the two's arguments about where to go and what to do next resulted in a fever pitch that activated Gemini's residual waves in their body, reviving the FM-ian and causing them to Wave Change again. They fought to vent their frustrations, though the one fact they could agree on was this: this was their power now, not Gemini's. Neither trusted the EM being anymore after he'd used them like a pawn. Gemini begrudged this but had no choice but to stick around; their waves were connected and he would no longer be welcome back on his home planet after being outed as a traitor.

Amidst their battling, Pat and Rey finally realized that this wasn't working. They came to a shaky agreement to let things settle and see where life would take them now. Things remained tense between them for a while and continue even now, but their acceptance of one another grows as they communicate more through Wave Change.

Timeline Jumping Turned Universe Jumping

Pat had become aware of unstable rifts in time before the chatroom's existence. Thanks to them, he made semi-frequent visits to the past. He finds the trips to be a kind of escape from reality, to not have to worry about being found by anyone he would know- to not have to think about his mistakes. He's made multiple friends this way, all of which are now familiar with the truth that he is from a different time.

He found the mysterious chatroom on his Wave Scanner one day. He'd never been the social type, but upon listening to everyone discussing their own unique universes (and especially due to seeing a couple of people he already knew from his travels) he stuck around. Though the situations that have risen in the room have been nerve-wracking, for him so far, at least, the good has outweighed the bad in allowing him a social outlet.

A Real Home

Currently, thanks to the relief of reconciling with Geo, Pat has been able to find a stable place to live. Namely, Aaron Boreal of AMAKEN was willing to take him in. After tending to Pat for some time already during the FM invasion, Aaron had quickly taken notice of the boy's lack of a family. The thought had stewed in his mind for some time to be a parental figure in his life but he hadn't had the chance to act on it with Pat disappearing suddenly not long after his recovery. With Pat finally in a place mentally to be willing to accept, he spends some of his free time at AMAKEN, watering the plants and taking in the work that goes on inside.

Relationships

• Penelope Novella: Knew each other before the Chatroom. Highly positive relationship, Pen is somewhat of an older sibling/otherwise familial figure to Pat. She's one of a very small group of people he feels truly at ease around as she's already aware of his secrets.
• Role.EXE: Similarly to Pen, they get along very well and Pat sees her as a strong positive influence. Rey has warmed up to her more than he has to Pen as he sees her as incredibly cool in battle. He is, however, very difficult about admitting this opinion. The two of them accepting him so readily despite threatening them on their first meeting is difficult for him to fully come to terms with.
• Mellicent Kidd: Knew each other before the Chatroom, but only in a vague sense. They were acquaintances but weren't close to aware of each other's struggles until meeting again in the chat. Pat is a bit intimidated by her aggressive outlook on interactions but respects her as a friend nonetheless. Rey is interested in speaking to her more after 'officially' meeting her.
• Ellen Stream: Met while trying to cheer up Mel. He finds himself getting dragged along by her energy and feeling like a heap of dead weight, but he appreciates where her heart is at.
• Meiru Sakurai^FS: After a less-than-ideal meeting and reconciliation, Pat wouldn't mind speaking to her again sometime. Her regret in the moment mirrored his own so strongly it took him by surprise.
• Rei Tao: Both of them hope they'll never meet him again. His demeanor puts Pat on edge and gives Rey the urge to attack. Pat regrets giving him too much information.
• Haru Tatsumaki: Pat was nervous about making a second BrotherBand but doesn't regret it. He's relieved that he could help her feel a bit more comfortable with things, steering her away from Satella. He believes he understands her general nerves.

Threads

• 2024-05-23: no matter what! - Nick, Pat, Mel, and Meiru^FS attempt to aid the effort to rescue Triese from Dr. Regal ^KQ. Instead, Dr. Hikari^SF has his way with them.
• 2024-06-09: HOPITAL - After their SoulNet-induced brawl, Meiru^FS and Pat reconcile and recover.
• 2024-06-16: Cactus Care - Ellen and Pat pay Mel a visit to try and repair dampened emotions from the rescue. Rey takes the wheel right as the three of them engage in some real talk.
• 2024-07-21: Not-So-Secret Identity - Pen invites Pat over for a picnic. In order to preserve the peace when her job unexpectedly catches up to her, Pen tries to hide her Official activities from him.
• 2024-08-25: Weeds Amongst Flowers - Pat and Haru have a chance meeting in Dream Park after a small discussion in the chatroom. Skepticism sparks on both sides that ends up going a little too far.
• 2024-12-25: Who of The Beach?! - At a beach party in Lan^SF's world, Ellen, Pat, and Triese end up spending the day together. They engage in a team mission to effectively smash a watermelon.
• 2025-02-08: The Stars Misaligned - On one of his trips to the past, Pat runs into Rei when their 'Navis' seem to recognize one another. FM-ian drama ensues.
